Winning at blackjack usually means patiently accumulating a number of small but consistent payouts. But sometimes a blackjack gambler wants something special — a big jackpot all at once — and Bonus Blackjack may be just the ticket. Bonus Blackjack is one of the most exciting and lucrative blackjack games in the online casino.
Bonus Blackjack is a blackjack gambling variant that throws in a bonus option. The bonus game lets the player bet on his first two cards and it pays out according to the combination on only those first two cards. The game is played with two decks of cards, which means that the possibility of getting certain combinations is fairly good. Bonus Blackjack spices up the game of blackjack for anyone who is looking for a little added value.

Bonus Blackjack Has Bonus Payouts
So what are some Bonus Blackjack payouts, you may ask? The most valuable two-card combination is an Ace and Jack of spades and it pays out 50 to 1. Other Jack-Ace combinations of the same suit pay 25 to 1, while any other two cards of the same suit pay out 5 to 2. Any other two-card hands totaling 21 (say, a 10 of diamonds and an Ace of clubs) pay out 3 to 2.
Aside from the optional bonus bet on the first two cards, a round of Bonus Blackjack plays out pretty much like a standard blackjack game. Bonus Blackjack is considered an American hole card game, in which one of the dealer's first two cards is dealt face down.
The dealer can look at his hole card when his up card is a ten, a picture card, or an Ace. As mentioned, Bonus Blackjack is played with two regular decks, and the dealer must hit on a soft 17. The player can double down on any two cards and he can double down after a split. Any pair of ten-valued cards can be split (not just the exact same cards). Aces can be split only once.
Don't Forget the Bonus Bet in Bonus Blackjack
The Bonus bet is optional, but that is where the big real money blackjack payouts are in Bonus Blackjack. When a round of Bonus Blackjack begins, the player has to place his bet on the "Jackpot" part of the blackjack table in order to be entitled to the "bonus" bet. If you don't place the bonus bet, you're essentially just playing regular blackjack. The maximum bonus bet is $25. If you're super lucky and your first two cards are a Jack and Ace of spades, the 50:1 payout will put an additional $1,250 into your pocket if you had bet the max. Not bad for a bet on just two cards; it's a nice "little" bonus.
